The Mid-Shannon Corridor Tourism Infrastructure Investment Scheme

As Regional Tourism Authority for the Shannon Region, Shannon Development strongly supports the introduction of Mid-Shannon Corridor Tourism Infrastructure Investment Scheme. The River Shannon is one of Ireland’s foremost assets in terms of water-based tourism and the Scheme will provide tax relief for balanced and sustainable tourism developments along its banks. The Company is confident therefore that the Scheme will further spread the economic benefits of tourism into the very heart of Ireland.

The Scheme allows for tax relief by way of accelerated capital allowances over 7 years for qualifying construction and refurbishment expenditure. The types of qualifying tourism facility and the relevant qualifying locations are available in an information booklet which summarises the main elements of the Scheme.
