Shannon Development recently hosted an event in the Clarion Hotel, Limerick to give key Shannon Region tourism trade representatives an opportunity to network with Tourism Ireland staff based in all international markets world-wide.
The event coincided with Tourism Ireland’s international staff conference which saw over 150 Tourism Ireland staff from 22 tourism markets world-wide visit Limerick for a three day period. During their stay Shannon Development also arranged a briefing session with key Tourism Ireland executives, among them Paul O’ Toole Chief Executive, Tourism Ireland, Tourism Ireland Directors, and the company’s International Managers and Tourism Officers, to appraise them of new and existing Shannon Region tourism products for the 2008 season. They also had discussions around identifying new international marketing opportunities for the Shannon Region in the future.
“We were delighted to host the networking event which we felt provided a significant opportunity to build on our existing excellent relationship with Tourism Ireland and share with them our expectations for the 2008 tourism season,” says John King, Heritage and Tourism Director Shannon Development.
