Shannon Development Knowledge Network team were in Dublin recently (Wednesday 24th October ‘07) to promote the company’s network of five world-class business parks located around the Shannon Region which includes IAPE.
The Company organised a special business function for top Dublin based management representatives from banking, accounting, legal and venture capital companies, many of whom originally come from the Shannon Region. The event was designed to forge new business contacts for the Shannon Region. Kevin Thompstone, chief executive Shannon Development and acclaimed entrepreneur Jerry Kennelly founder and former CEO of Stockbyte Ltd were key speakers at the event.
Mr. Kennelly shared his experience of how a company can operate globally from a Shannon Development Knowledge Network location. Stockbyte was subsequently bought out by multinational Getty Images for $135m. Mr. Thompstone showed how with the advent of new technology how easy it is for people to be based in the heart of the countryside, enjoying a better quality of life, and still operate globally.
