Shannon Development Appoints New Tourism Marketing Manager
Shannon Development has appointed Pat Daly as their new Tourism Marketing Manager. Mr. Daly has been an employee of Shannon Development for the past 18 years.
Making the announcement Mr. John King, Tourism and Heritage Director, Shannon Development said, “We are pleased to have Pat onboard to develop and grow the Shannon Region’s tourism market share both at home and overseas. Pat brings with him a wealth of experience and an extensive knowledge of the Shannon Region which he will bring to bear in his new position”.
He first joined the Shannon Development in 1989 and has held a number of key senior positions since that time. From 1997 he was Shannon Development Regional Manager for Limerick City and County. Prior to this he was the Company’s Regional Manager in South Offaly. He also worked in the Company’s International Industry Group as European Marketing Executive.
Pat qualified as an Industrial Engineer, has completed a Masters Degree in Management and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Development at University College Cork. He is married and is a native of Limerick City.
“My goal will be to ensure the Region is promoted as a quality location. The Shannon Region has a superb range of diverse products, accommodation and attractions. A key priority will be to develop new tourism marketing strategy targeting our key contacts in the national and international marketplace to increase tourism revenue and business by driving home the message of the Shannon Region as a world class tourist destination,” says Mr. Daly.
