Shannon Development, the Regional Tourism Authority for counties Limerick, Clare, North Tippeary and South Offaly, will host a major seminar on the plans for the tourism industry for 2006 at the South Court Hotel on Friday 13th January ‘06.
John King, Heritage and Tourism Director, Shannon Developemnt, will outline the key issues in the industry in the Shannon Region and will give an overview of the plans for the promotion and development of the industry by Shannon Development Tourism in 2006. Paul O'Toole CEO Tourism Ireland and Shaun Quinn CEO Failte Ireland will give detailed presentations covering the key activities of both agencies for 2006. In addition to the key note speakers, the main Executives from all tourism agencies will be present at the events to discuss specific issues such as training, marketing, international promotion, and product development.
Commenting on the seminars, John King, Heritage and Tourism Director, Shannon Development said, "Tourism is Ireland’s largest indigenous industry and I would encourage all Shannon Region tourism industry representatives to attend this unique opportunity to meet Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland respresentative. While Shannon Development will increase its overall marketing activity during 2006, with a particular emphasis on working in partnership with tourism trade, one significant initiative will be a major focus on the UK and key European markets by the Shannon Region, Ireland West, North West and Tourism Ireland.”
The seminar is free, open to all members of the Shannon Region tourism industry, and will kick off at 11.30 am on Friday 13th January 2006 at the South Court Hotel, Limerick.
