Passion for Fashion in the Castle

Fairytale Knappogue Castle near Quin in Co. Clare will be the setting for a fashion show extravaganza next week (7.30 pm Thursday March 2nd ‘06). Themed “passion for fashion” the show is being organised as a fundraising event for Clonmoney National School, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare. The event is being organised in conjunction with Shannon Heritage, the Shannon Development tourism subsidiary who manage Knappogue castle and a range of visitor attractions and evening entertainment in the Shannon Region.

Local business and community groups have also rallied to sponsor the show. It will feature Spring/Summer collections from fashion outlets in Clare and Limerick - Bella Sola, the County Boutique, Ela Maria, and Tippe Canoe. Models for the event will be supplied by the Celia Holman-Lee Agency,

Part of the show will be dedicated to wedding clothes, and 15th century Knappogue Castle, already a well established wedding venue, is a perfect setting for this aspect of the show. Students from the Fashion Department at Limerick Senior College have come up with some unique dress designs especially for the event.  Also featured are bridal designs by Gay Moore.

“We are delighted to lend our support to this worthy cause. Over the years Knappogue Castle has built a reputation as an exceptional wedding venue, in addition to this the Knappogue Castle Staterooms are proving a popular honeymoon destination, with many couples using the castle as the venue for both their wedding and honeymoon. The castle is a very appropriate setting for the fashion show, and we wish the Clonmoney National School every success with the event,” says John Ruddle, chief operations officer, Shannon Heritage.
